Proprietor of Appetite Retailers, Michael Milan was born and bought up in Hackney and has always been keen to do business here.
He sees businesses such as Appetite as bearing some responsibility to revive the borough and improve its reputation.
Appetite Retailers now have 7 sandwich shops operating in the City Fringe area, including two Hackney outlets on Curtain Road and Mare Street.
Business has exceeded expectations at the Mare Street branch with good trade done with staff from the Town Hall!
Appetite also runs a training scheme in conjunction with Rising Tide to offer work placements for Hackney youngsters within different areas of the business. This aims to equip them with transferable work skills to take into the hospitality industry or beyond.
