Based in Homerton, FOAL is a new PR company which specializes in creating marketing and PR campaigns for new brands and small businesses.
Hackney’s hugely entrepreneurial economy means that almost 90% of businesses in the borough employ fewer than 10 people, making the borough an ideal base for FOAL to work from.
Martin Kyran, the Hackney resident and PR guru behind FOAL believes that “brand grooming” is as important for small businesses and start ups as it is for larger companies. If you are a small business Foal will listen to your needs and work with you to create a marketing strategy that is specifically designed to suit you and your business. Martin believes that like a baby, a new business needs careful nurturing, hence the name Foal.
Martin, or the Head Groom as he is better known, says “Foal is all about focusing on the specific needs of a brand. Every brand is different and therefore should have a campaign built around what is best for them” Martin goes on to say “Most agencies use the same old tool box to build a campaign and this usually costs a client both creatively and financially, Foal sets out to be different”
Having moved to Hackney from Manchester ten years ago Martin has long been a fan of East London. Because of the rich cultural mix that is Hackney, despite being an “in-comer”, he says has never felt like an outsider in Hackney making it a great place to live. The mix of industries and businesses in the area also make Hackney a special place to work and the potential opportunities that will arise over the next few years in the lead up to 2012 make Hackney a great place to do business.
Martin has been at the heart of retail marketing for almost two decades working on a scope of top notch brands such as Uniqlo, Clarks, Harvey Nichols, Gap, Lloyd Davis, Scholl, sneakart, The Hacienda/Paul Cons Promotions, Ted Baker, Red Or Dead, Levis and lots more.
More recently Martin has been working with another Hackney business, Bottle Apostle, which opened recently in Victoria Park Village.
