The opportunity to boost the borough’s visitor economy through the potential of the 2012 Games is clear. A 2007 DCMS report estimated that, with the right improvements, the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games could generate an estimated £2.1 billion in additional tourism benefits for the UK over the period 2007-17.
