Hackney and the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games

The East London Line extension opened in May 2010

The East London Line Extension opened in May 2010 with four new stations in Hackney at Dalston, Haggerston, Hoxton and Shoreditch, linking the borough to the Tube Network for the first time. The service is due to be extended to Highbury and Islington by Spring 2011, and to Clapham by 2012, with 16 trains an hour running through the borough by that time – equivalent to Tube frequency.
