Hackney and the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games

Hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012 gives Hackney Council a unique opportunity to make Hackney a better place to live, work, visit and invest.

Better public transport has long been a top priority for Hackney,and the 2012 Games have given the borough the opportunity to secure this.

The East London Line extension will be running from 2010

The East London Line Extension will open in 2010 and Hackney will then have new stations at Dalston, Haggerston, Hoxton and Shoreditch linking the borough to the Tube Network for the first time and this link will extend to Highbury & Islington by 2011.
