The One Big Idea competition is your chance to design the next One product. The competition will focus on the 3Ps – People, Planet and Profit, and will provide a practical opportunity for teachers and learners to be engaged in social enterprise activity.

Young people will be asked to identify a problem in Malawi using resources provided and come up with a product that can be developed and sold. The winning idea will be produced and sold in selected Co-operative stores and 100% of Global Ethics’ profits from its sale will be donated to helping those most at need in Malawi.

The One Big Idea judges include BBC TV’s Dragons’ Den Duncan Bannatyne and Doug Richard; Peter Marks Group Chief Executive of The Co-operative; award winning social entrepreneur Duncan Goose, founder of One Water and Lindsey McMurray Head of Equity Finance Royal Bank of Scotland.

You can start thinking now! The competition will be launched on Social Enterprise Day (19 November) and you are encouraged to run a launch activity in your school or college to celebrate.
The deadline for entries is 12th February 2010.
