My name is Lindsay Tripp and I am the head of Invest in Hackney. My role is to build relationships with key stakeholders and politicians, ensuring that inward investment and business requirements are top of the agenda. In addition, it’s important that I understand the drivers of and the opportunities within the local and regional economy. I use this knowledge to ensure Invest in Hackney sends the right messages to potential investors and attracts the kind of investment that is good for the borough.

My role is to encourage Inward Investment into Hackney by highlighting the competitive property portfolio. This means understanding the specific needs of businesses and liaising with landlords and property agents to search for the best options available. The aim is to help businesses to not only find the right property in the right location for the right price, but to also redirect them to other business support organisations to provide an all-inclusive relocation package.

I am responsible for Invest in Hackney's Marketing and PR activities, including managing the media relations function, editing the IiH e-newsletter, organising events and building relationships with other key sector agencies and organisations. Hi, my role as Inward Investment Coordinator involves working intensively with investors so they receive all the assistance they need when relocating and expanding in Hackney. Another part of my job is to work with Hackney’s planning department to help ensure that developments in Hackney give the best economic return to the borough. I do this by keeping up to speed with the latest economic research to provide advice on areas of potential and growth in Hackney’s economy.

As a consultant working for the Invest in Hackney team, I assist clients with property enquiries and business support and undertake research into barriers to business investment in Hackney to inform future inward investment strategy for the borough.
