Hackney Central

Hackney Central is located in the heart of Hackney, between Shoreditch and Hackney Wick.

Over the past few years the area has made a remarkable leap in status to being one of London’s foremost arts and cultural quarters with an equally impressive retail base.

The famous Hackney Empire music hall has recently undergone an extensive redevelopment. The award winning Technology and Learning Centre boasts a high tech library, museum, gym and shops, and the Ocean Music Venue continues to attract leading names in the urban music scene and is a major entertainment destination.

Also emerging is a strong South Central Hackney economy, with the development and increase in commercial activity in the city fringe area spreading northwards.

Broadway Market is home to one of London's newest farmers market and an increasing range of specialist independent fashion boutiques, galleries, delis and bistros. These complement the traditional Pie and Mash shops and local hardware stores to create a truly dynamic urban environment.

Hackney Central has a station on the soon to be upgraded North London line providing rail connections to Central London and Stratford. The area is also well served by around 15 different bus routes.
